About me
My name is Thomas. I’m about 30 years old and live in Vienna. If you care about pronouns, mine are he/him. However, I don’t mind if they are used incorrectly.
I graduated from a technical school that specialized in computer engineering and electronics. It’s a unique Austrian school concept in which students attend a five-year high school that covers technical topics in addition to the traditional four years.
After graduating, I began studying computer engineering at the Technical University of Vienna (TU Wien). After a few semesters, I started working as an embedded Linux engineer while continuing my studies. I currently work full time and am almost finished with my bachelor’s degree.
I have always been interested in electronics and software, and I ultimately specialized in embedded systems. It’s an interesting combination of both worlds.
For a few years, I was also part of an alternative GTA V multiplayer modification project. There, I did documentation, community management, project management, and programming. I learned a lot from this project and am grateful to have met so many great people.
In my free time, I enjoy doing many different things. Sometimes I tinker with embedded devices, optimize my Home Assistant, program, or play computer games with friends.
Two to three times a year I’m visiting different open-source and hacking congresses and events.
In short, I’m a classic geek who loves discussing topics I’m interested in.
